SELEUKID KINGS. Antiochos IV Epiphanes, 175-164 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.00 g, 12 h), Seleukeia on the Tigris, circa 175-168. Diademed head of Antiochos IV to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ANTIOΧOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; in inner left field, monogram of ΠAP. CSE 981 = O. Mørkholm, A Greek Coin Hoard from Susiana, in: Acta Archaeologica 36 (1965), p. 132, 38 = SC 1506.2b and pl. 7, 1506.2 (this coin). Beautifully toned and with a splendid portrait, a lovely coin with an illustrious pedigree. The reverse a bit weak and with a flan fault on the edge, otherwise, good very fine.
